Pontiac Historical documented, #s matching real Trans Am! Very desirable Lucerne Blue. It's been frame off restored. It lived in VA it's entire life. Sold new at Davis Bros Pontiac. 1 owner the last 25 years! Out of the 49,000 Firebirds made, only 3,196 were Trans Ams. Of those only 1,398 had the optional automatic and less than 1/3 of those were blue. This is a rare and desirable investment car.

EXTERIOR: The all-new design nailed it! A longer nose, sloping rear profile and a lowered stance gave it a European sports car meets American muscle look. Other features include fender air extractors, spoilers, fender spats and the functional shaker hood scoop. The body is excellent there's no rust, damage, bubbles, or cracking. It is very straight and fits very nicely. They were offered only in blue or white, this one is repainted in its original Lucerne Blue. It is polished very smooth and glossy. It even feels slick like Teflon. The jambs are painted slick. It has the proper decal striping. Rubber bumper is in excellent shape, there is one hairline crack. The grills, headlight bezels, window moldings, taillights, rear bumper look like new. All the glass was replaced. Weatherstrips and sill plates were replaced. It has restored 15 inch Rallye ll wheels with the correct lug nuts and center caps. They are wrapped in BFG tires.

INTERIOR: I'm sitting inside a beautiful blue deluxe interior. It looks really new from carpet to headliner. It has blue Pontiac floor mats. The seats have been reupholstered. The center console is restored. It has a complete set of original seatbelts. The door panels and the plastic trim is excellent. The headliner and visors have been redone. The mirror is new, the dome light works. In front of me is a new formula steering wheel. Behind that is a gorgeous machine turned instrument panel, the chrome bezels sparkle. The dash pad is mint. It has a complete set of Rallye gauges including a tachometer. This one was ordered with AM-FM stereo and an 8-track player. New window cranks and door handles.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matching Ram Air lll 400. Correct YZ code, correct #12 Ram air manifolds, correct dated heads. It is detailed up very nicely. Correct new chrome valve covers. The metal surfaces are painted really nice and smooth. It has power steering and new power brake booster and master. It is very complete: squirters are hooked up, the heat riser tube shielding is hooked up, it has hood insulation.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean metal that's been spatter painted and clear coated for protection. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are gloss blue. It does have a reproduction mat and tire cover. Weatherstrip was replaced.

UNDERSIDE: All components were removed from the bottom of this car including the frame. The steering and suspension were completely rebuilt and detailed. It has front and rear swaybars. The brake system was completely restored, it has disc in front. Brake lines, hoses and e-brake assembly were replaced. Upgraded exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and correct polished slash cut tips. The fuel system was replaced, the tank is shiny. Looking up at the motor it is clean. It has its original Turbo 400 automatic, the 1970 tag is still riveted to the side of it. The automatic was optional at a cost, 4-speed was standard. It has its original 12 bolt saf-t-track rear dated 1970. The floors are clean metal painted gloss blue.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and spent $2,220. We repaired the horn, reverse lights, left front turn signal, temp gauge, blower motor and calibrated the speedometer. We installed correct dip stick, replaced timing cover gasket and had a front-end alignment done.

Wow, now that I've done my inspection, I'm more impressed than when I started. This is a very fresh, detailed car. Rare and desirable, investment grade.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
