Description

This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a beautifully restored first-year Impala Convertible with southern history. While the American auto industry faced major challenges heading into 1958, including an impending economic downturn and labor issues, the American Big Three continued to release some of its most iconic designs of all time. One of those groundbreaking designs that has stood the test of time was the Chevrolet Impala, which was originally released as a top trim level option package for Chevrolet's top-of-the-line Bel Air. From its entry-level Del Ray to its brand-new top-of-the-line Impala, Chevrolet completely redesigned its entire full-size passenger car line in 1958. This particular '58 Impala Convertible comes to us from the collection of an overseas collector who purchased this car from Texas-based collector. Powering this '58 Impala is a 348 V8 engine with Tri-Power consisting of a trifecta of dual barrel carburetors that together generated 280 horsepower when new. The Tri-Power 348 V8 is backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission and it has a dual exhaust setup. It's also loaded with fantastic options like power steering and upgraded power front disc braking system complete with a modern chrome brake booster and chrome dual master cylinder setup. The white vinyl power convertible top goes up and down with ease and is operated with the simple flick of a switch. Riding on a set of wide whitewall radial tires, each paired with a Spinner-style full wheel cover, this '58 Impala Convertible has a fantastic look and even better ride cruising down the road. This 1958 Impala also comes equipped with a rear-mounted color-matched continental kit, color-matched fender skirts, dual chrome outside mirrors and fender-mounted dual chrome spotlights, all of which further add to the classic 50s allure of the car. The exterior chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this classic Chevy is in wonderful condition and further adds to gorgeous look of the car. The exterior has been refinished in a beautiful Anniversary Gold Metallic paint. The interior of this '58 Impala Convertible is absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in Gold Vinyl with Gold, Beige, and Copper tri-color cloth inserts. The two-tone gold and beige upholstered door panels, gold carpeting, gold painted dash with engine turned trim inserts, and two-tone steering wheel are all in wonderful condition and appear to be in their stock configuration. The engine turned trimmed instrument cluster is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. The engine turned dash is finished with a push-button AM radio, clock and various controls. Whether you're buying your first classic Chevy ragtop or you're adding to an existing collection of 50s cruisers, this 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible would make an excellent addition.
