The "Dearborn Nomad"! The Parklane was a one year only production and a top of the line model. This one is extra loaded up with features. It's also restored to show condition. I'm told it was a 28 month project and every part was restored. Many NOS parts were used. $10,000 spent on chrome and $17,000 spent inside!

EXTERIOR: This 2 door wagon is decked out to the nines! The body looks completely rust, free damage and laser beam straight. It has a rare metal sun shade and fender skirts. Repainted it's original two tone Diamond Blue and Bermuda Blue. It's polished smooth like glass. $10,000 was spent on chrome and trim it all sparkles. Other options include: cattle guard, headlight eyebrows, door handle guards, rocker moldings, stone shields and dual deluxe mirrors. It also has a set of dual spotlights and fog lamps. They installed better looking 53 Mercury taillights. All the glass is clear, weather strips look good. It is rolling on a set of white walls and with the optional wire basket hubcaps.

INTERIOR: I think the interior is super cool, it's nostalgic. Like I said earlier $17,000 was spent restoring it! Reproduction seat upholstery, door panels and headliner were professionally installed. It is completely carpeted front to back including under the seat and over the wheel wells. It even has matching floor mats. The rear seat folds flat. The metal trim is repainted, the gauges, knobs, heater controls are all clean. A few more options include the day/night mirror, traffic light viewfinder, Town and Country radio and even a tissue dispenser.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This one has the Thunderbird Special which is a 292 V8 with a four barrel and dual exhaust making 202 horsepower. It has the engine dress up kit with polished aluminum valve covers, chrome air cleaner and breather cap. It is obvious the engine compartment was taken apart and restored. The metal surfaces are painted slick. The components all look clean and proper. It's the first year for the 12 volt system, the battery is properly secured and has a disconnect switch. Other features include power steering, under hood lamp and washer fluid bag.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The two part tailgate opens smoothly. The hinges and latches were all chrome plated. Inside looks great! It's carpeted restored like new. Even the spare tire well was carpeted to match. It has a white wall spare and a restored jack. This one also has a rare privacy tonneau cover to hide your cargo.

UNDERSIDE: It even looks fantastic underneath. The floors are all clean, rust free metal painted gloss black. The chassis is also smooth clean metal painted black. It has a smooth sounding dual exhaust system. The steering and suspension has been completely rebuilt. The brakes were rebuilt, e-brake is hooked up. Fuel tank was replaced. Looking up at the motor it is clean. It has a Cruise-o-Matic transmission.

SERVICE: We gave the car an inspection and we sealed the threads on the heater valve and repaired the glove box latch.
Google 56 Parklane images, then look back at this one. There's no comparison! This car is so decked out it blows away any others. The restoration not only looks great but it functions great too. I really like and appreciate this car.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
