all right here we are in a very nice alpine california morning very close to el cajon san diego area southern california here looking at a really fun old-school style 1955 chevy bel air two-door hard top again old-school style hot rod as we walk around here we're gonna tell you what we know and spent quite a bit of time studying it and like to cover it for you so you get a good feel this owner purchased it in about 2011 and then 2011 2012 he spent quite a bit of time just basically going through the whole car powertrain interior wise it was purchased with the current paint job that's on it it's a average professional good kind of car you can drive and have fun with a lot of people are going to have compliments with about it that kind of thing you could pick it a little bit he could have blocked it a little bit better but i'm trying to give you all the reflections and the car definitely is a great looking car we've had people walk by and go nice car nice paint anyway all the trim is very nice and nicely done on the car we've been underneath it a body on style restoration just kind of give you a feel here as we go around like we usually do nothing's been modified on the body that type of thing it has bf goodrich radials on it all done about last year so they're very very low miles on the bf goodrich ta radials same size front and rear full size spare in the trunk has four wheel disc brakes on it their ssbc brake components on it kind of give you a feel there and we'll spend some time on the undercarriage panel fit overall is very nice on the car [Music] see how the trim still lines up on it i said the overall presence is just a great looking hot rod nice affordable double nickel tri-five you gotta love the nose on these uh 55's i like it a lot kind of give you a feel here underneath the hood very nicely done nice and tidy zz3 zz4 350 v8 upgraded gm performance camshaft in it with roller rockers aluminum heads dual quad muncy four speed has a chevelle rear differential with the eaton posi 340s ratio kind of get an idea of the reflections on the paint here little bumperettes on the front are always a nice touch on these uh double nickels again give you some reflections down the side i know the light's a little eyed there odd there windshield wipers do work again the overall fit of the doors and the panels are nice body on style restoration 2011 2012 when he went through it he went did the whole interior's been done the car has about 2500 miles on it since this owners owned it and kind of went through everything trying to relive the 60s and 70s kind of feel all factory jet dash non-modified other you know a couple little things you'll see the chrome dash glove box uh stainless flaming river steering column in it good old muncie four speed hurst shifter on it there a little bow tie sewn uh in the seats here it's an ultra leather interior it looks like leather however it has better wear characteristics that kind of thing all the way through nice uh upper end style carpet in it billet sill plates here under dash gauges the bose in the headliner all the lights work in it he's got new painless wiring in it when he went over it so all new modern painless wiring doors shut nice the flippers work nice i'll do that again if you want we've got the windows down for the hard top but i did take pictures of the windows up and those will be at spuds garage for you to take a close look at that i know the lights a little bit weird there but uh you're getting a good feel here and all the photos will be taken in better lighting we can only do one side of the car at a time when it comes to getting the perfect light in the trunk is finished just the same we'll have it we'll cover that for you in just a moment again all factory style trim not modified great looking car average professional body prep and paint but it's a good looking car right here boys and girls give you a feel door catches stay open like it's supposed to we're even on a hill here has seat belts front and rear again the ultra leather interior that we talked about bow tie in the back seat it has six point uh six by nine speakers in the rear window here you can see the bow ties punch through the ultra leather of car you just go down to the boulevard at night and you cruise with and that kind of thing and take the grandkids out if that's what you want to do and has a factory van is right here where it's supposed to be a little picture of that at spuds garage for you there's the painless wiring system he did when he wired it he wired in uh just behind the panel here's his wires to do power windows if you wanted to do power windows so he kind of thought in advance see the hurst shifter here like we talked about during the walk around this is a true hot rod this gentleman didn't care if he had eaten the heat and air so it does not have heat and air but it'd be easy to put it back in because it's wide open like it's supposed to be if you want to put a heater in it all he when he went through the car he replaced the instrument cluster here so the speedo would be accurate and all that type of thing it's got 2545 miles since the complete once-over windshield wipers work saline river tilt steering column under dash gauges it has a custom audio sound we'll have all the spec sheets sitting there on the wind windshield we'll have that at spuds garage for you kind of to get a feel and we'll go over all the specs so make sure you go to spudsgarage.com hang on to the video like we always say just like they did back in the back in the day they chrome plated the glove box door they chrome plated the uh vents on the side the air vents it's an original uh manual shift car with a muncie four speed anyway we'll get out and let's take a closer look all right we'll get you underneath the hood here and uh cover what we see great looking engine compartment nice old-school hot rod style feeling at the firewall is very nice and tidy we'll go over here to the data tag here for you then we'll cover some of the engine and stuff like that data tag here it's a 1037d which is a true bel air firewall finish i used all stainless hardware up front here all braided braided and stainless lines on it mechanical fuel pump down low here the headers we'll get over we have a spec sheet over on the other side i'll cover some of that with you anyway it's a zz4 350 v8 the owners updated the cam shaft in it with a gm performance uh full roller valve train in it and check double check the cylinder heads and all the crank and that kind of thing in it when he first purchased it in 2011 roughly about there upgraded aluminum radiator up front here standard flex fan runs cool no no overheat issues that kind of thing he's went through all through the front end here on the car and you'll see all the control arm bushings are very nice here's a billet uh coolant recovery bottle right here just like it's got that 60 70s feel to it like we talked about during the walk around chrome hood hinges it has a ssbc stainless steel four wheel disc brakes on it and that's an ssbc uh master cylinder you'll see all stainless polished stainless lines on it has cpp uh power steering on it newly upgraded it has power steering obviously there's a power steering pump there it has a muncie four-speed transmission and has a gm 10 bolt rear differential we're going to go over here and kind of cover the specs with you i like these uh fill panels that uh with a bow tie punched out of it there but nice and tidy underneath the hood he's actually won a trophy for best engine at a ford event if you can believe that it's cool still has a windshield wiper on it it has a gm performance part hot cam in it roller rockers dual cfm edelbrock carbs mallory electronic distributor in it i'm looking at the spec sheets what i'm doing those are doug's headers doug's headers are nice the way they flow they're almost a try y design gonna fire it up so we can here it run very nice [Music] foreign um turn around so i can photograph the other side give you a taste of the sunlight all right we get you in the trunk here nicely finished in the ultra leather and carpet just like in the interior of the car um rear deck has speakers in it believe those are six six by nines it's nice that he left the spare tire well for nice storage little items uh you could always put a mini spare in there if you wanted and not have this back here but i like the fit size tire spare tire on its actual replace underneath here is an optoma battery uh we'll have a picture of that at spuds garage and nice billet or polished aluminum uh hold down you look underneath here on a tri-five this is really a good spot where you take a look into the well it's solid back here so this was never if it was a rusty car one time it would be rusty in here it's not gonna give you a feel there all right let's get you to the undercarriage here the owner recently uh had all the body it's a body on style restoration he recently had all the body mounts redone in the car because just had a little bit of creaking he didn't like that they were kind of hard for over the years it has uh factory style stamp control arms upper and lower coil spring suspension in the front he does have a front stabilizer bar he took it off because it was just a little bit too stiff for him as the ssbc uh four-wheel disc brakes all the way around like we talked about in the engine compartment kind of give you a feel here it has uh these tires were put on last year so they're very fresh bf goodrich radial tas again body on style body on type restoration we'll have photos at spuds garage for you know it's a little dark at that angle but we'll pick up some light when we get to the other side kind of look down the sides here there you get a little more light right there body on style restoration i've crawled underneath here rockers over on this side are all solid original all the body and floor braces are nice there's no rust that we could see but i have been underneath it nice little slapper traction bars in the back here polished american torque thrust wheels american racing has a eaton posi 10 bolt malibu or a chevelle rear end in it with a 342 ratio trying to capture his old school hot rod kind of feel the muncie four speed like we talked about stabilizer bar in the rear fuel tank a lot of neat little things done by this owner since he purchased it and we get the tire size right here the rear tires are 215 215 65 r15s you'll see the uh brake calipers in the rear here again four wheel disc brakes there's attraction bars old school good tear they did have a little bit of a rocker repair right in here really nothing worth talking about but it the floor pans are solid [Music] factory this is a factory box chassis in other words it's a steel all the way around rectangular box there's the doug's headers there dual exhaust out the back front tire size the 215 60 so they're same size tires all the way around and the spare in the trunk matches that which makes it nice and easy anyway there you go all right taking it back to his garage
