This 1931 Ford Model A Victoria "Leatherback" is a wonderfully restored pre-war Ford in the desirable and rare Victoria body style. By 1931, the Ford Model A was both ubiquitous on US roadways but also found itself reaching the end of its road with regards to its appeal to American buyers. Nonetheless, Ford entered its final year of Model A production in 1931 having sold around 3 million units up until that point and managed to sell nearly 3.5 million units in the 4 year production run from 1928-1931. Initially introduced in November of 1930, the Victoria bodied Model A was one of the last new body styles for Ford's Model A line and thus are among the rarest Model A bodies in the hands of enthusiasts and collectors. This particular '31 Model A Victoria comes to us from a large private collector who cared for the car for a number of years. Under the hood on this Model A is a 200.5 Cubic Inch L-Head Inline 4 Cylinder engine fed by a single barrel carburetor that was said to have created 40 horsepower when new. The 200.5 CID 4 Cylinder engine is mated to a 3 speed manual transmission that is shifted via a floor mounted shifter. For a Model A, this Vicky is nicely appointed with accessories and options. The accessory radiator stone guard and "Flying Quail" radiator cap are in wonderful condition and together dress up the front end treatment. A pair of chrome cowl lights further add to the beautiful front appearance package and improve visibility going down the road. Dual sidemounted spare tires augment the elevated look of this classic Ford Model A. A rear-mounted luggage rack is also a welcome addition to this Victoria-bodied Model A since it makes it easy to carry luggage on an overnight cruise or even a cooler for some cold beverages at the local car show. Riding on a set of wide whitewall tires on Straw painted wire wheels, accented by chrome beauty rings, this '31 Model A Victoria has a fantastic look cruising down the road. The steel body of this Victoria has been beautifully refinished in an elegant two-tone color scheme consisting of Kewanee Green and Elkpoint Green with Straw-colored pinstriping. The steel fenders have been refinished in black paint that matches the reupholstered artificial leather "Leatherback" top, completing the exterior look of the car. The interior on this '31 Model A is just gorgeous! The front opera seats and rear bench have been reupholstered with Beige mohair. The matching mohair door panels, beige carpeting, black steering wheel, pull-down rear shades, and woodgrain dash are all in fantastic condition as well and retain the car's wonderful stock appearance. The chrome surrounded instrument cluster is equipped with a rotary-style 85 MPH speedometer, amp gauge and fuel gauge. Whether you're adding to an existing collection of pre-war Fords or you're buying your very first classic car, this 1931 Ford Model A Victoria would make an excellent addition.
