Safe in Austin is a heartfelt sanctuary nestled on a 10-acre ranch in Leander, where a diverse array of animals—from cows and goats to exotic birds and tortoises—find refuge and healing from abuse and neglect. Led by Jamie Wallace Grinder, this haven not only rescues and cares for over 200 animals with unique needs but also serves as a therapeutic environment for children, including those with special needs. Through unconditional love and genuine connections, Safe in Austin transforms lives, offering both animals and humans a space to heal, grow, and experience the magic of compassion and community.

I was so touched by what Jamie is and has been doing. She is a super hero!
Just got to view this, Mel. I am definitely sending her a donation.
Jamie is amazing . . . and she is touching so, so many lives. What a wonderful place for those, both critter and people, to find freedom to 'just be "me"'. One of the hearts greatest years is to be accepted and loved . . . So glad you gave the website, so I can donate. Definitely a very worthy cause. I'm honored for the opportunity to support Safe in Austin. Thank you, Mel . . .
JUST BEAUTIFUL
Such a beautiful and joyful story for kids who need the magical therapy that animals bring and for the animals who "do not have a voice" as you said and for the compassion that Jamie recognized the need for both the children and all these special animals...such an awesome an uplifting story! Thank you, Jamie, for all you are doing and for having the insight to create this safe space for a much needed facility lie this!

SINCE YOU'VE ASKED FOR A SIGN IN, I CAN'T GET ANYTHING.
This is a wonderful video! I once had a 10 acre ranch with numerous animals, and I wish I had done something like this.
O.K. Mel I cried so hard - thank you for reminding me how much I loved Leander. I was there 43 years ago - maybe I shall go and visit again.
