Video Description:

I colorized, restored, and designed the sound for this rare footage of Montclair, New Jersey in the 1920s. shows Bloomfield Avenue near the corner of Park Street, looking slightly northeast, with the Louis Harris and Hughes buildings visible on the north side of the avenue. Additional scenes capture different areas around Montclair, including the historic Lackawanna Train Station. The footage also references the founding of Brookside School in 1925 by a group of Montclair parents for about 30 students in grades K–6.

    I found that absolutely fascinating. We can see for ourselves such a long time ago on film footage. I'm sure they are all passed away by now but what an opportunity to see them on film in their youth, going about daily life as it was back them. Incredible. I do appreciate those that have gone before us . . .
