Medo has 2 close friends, Jamsai and Sookjai, both of whom are blind. All 3 move rather at a slower pace than younger or more able-bodied elephants, but their enjoyment is clear, not frenzied but at peace. After drinking water preferred by her mahout, Toon, Medo walks to her pile of red dirt for a dust bathing. She does not play hard like a baby elephant or roll about as one more confident with their form. Medo will often just sit and relax on the soft soil prepared for her, resting her injured hips on higher ground and having a slope to readily stand again. at Elephant Nature Park.
