Video Description:

When a lonely and shy donkey named Chocula needed a new home, this couple couldn't resist their rescuer streak and brought him in. Initially weighing just 250 pounds and having little socialization with humans, Chocula quickly formed a special bond with the husband, Adam. Now weighing closer to 600 pounds, Chocula's intelligence and affection shine through daily. Whether it's protecting Adam or expressing his needs, this sweet donkey has become an integral part of their family. With the addition of another donkey, Blueberry, their strange little herd is filled with love, playfulness, and unique bonds. Donkeys truly are remarkable animals with so much to give.

Donkeys are wonderful people. I rescued one (Zeke) many years ago. He was a character!! The first time he heehawed, the horses stared at him in wonder. :)

Love this. I am not sure I would ever want to have a donkey, but they do seem really sweet.

What a sweet couple to rescue both of these lonely donkeys so they could have each other. Best friends forever now. I saw this before, but it is still heartwarming to watch.

I've had several donkeys throughout my life. My first riding animal was a donkey when I was about 8 years old. Donkeys are incredible and I miss them a lot. I even had several donkeys giving rides to children at Villagefest in Palm Springs CA for several years. People loved the donkey rides. We had one Mammoth jack that gave rides to adults--he was 14 hands high-the size of a small horse.

I agree with Barb that if just given a chance, animals could teach us humans a lot.
