Video Description:
Vespa mandarinia Smith holds the title for being the world’s largest hornet. Commonly referred to as the Asian giant hornet, Vespa mandarinia’s unrivaled size and distinctive markings make it easily distinguishable from other Asian hornet species. This wasp’s sting can be life-threatening to humans and it can decimate a number of insect colonies, most notably wild and managed honey bees. Vespa mandarinia is native to Japan and can also be found established outside of its native range in several countries in Asia, in both temperate and tropical climates. Within the United States the first known detection of a Vespa mandarinia hornet was in Washington in fall of 2019.

I had these get inside my home into a closet last year. Huge long nest. Had to have a removal man tend to it. They were some rare hornets from a foreign country.
Either this isn't Houston or they aren't Killer Hornets and I believe it is the latter...they aren't big enough and so far have only been found in the state of Washington
Really strange!
Not an easy job!!!
That is amazing! Don't come to Texas.
Amazing. I actually thought it was a joke at first.
One scary job! Reminds me of the time I knocked a nest down from my moms front door.
Holy Cow!!! Where can I get one of those suits?! I live a mere 1,200 miles from Washington. My sister, Sue, lives there with her husband and family. @Sue Underwood, Beware!
This made me sad. Wouldn't it have been best to smoke them to sleep and then just relocate them? After all, they're just trying to make a living, too. This seemed cruel to me.
In my experience with Wasps, I simply knock the nest down, the wasps will follow the nest. it is easier to deal with the wasps on the ground. Yes, a shop vac works very well
Sad to see someone not realize the bag they have is to small and their method of removal had no common sense so the hornets will be back.
That was quite a job. Glad it was him and not me.
This is fantastic, it's hard to believe a nest could get so big.
Not the brightest bulb.
Very interesting.
Sorry, but that was stupid. A larger bag for the nest, and instead of swinging a tiny net a shop vac. He left so many alive, they will just start a new colony.
