This man chose a profession that's very demanding of his time, 24/7. I look back at my 84 years and have no regrets; I played a lot with family and friends. Now, I relish my solitude.

I so feel for him and his regrets. We all have regrets, and one day we stop and reflect on what we should have done in our lives. So hard to look back. All we can do now is look ahead, at the time we have left. and make each moment count.

I too worked too hard at times but when my son was 12 and my daughters 8, I disposed of my investment properties and purchased a small house on Edisto Island which was on a small creek. We restored the house, built a dock, and I purchased a motor boat and a small sailboat and we spent the summer in the river swimming, sailing, water skiing, shrimping and living off the land. It was one of the best times my wife and I had with our children. Our son never forgot it and he is a true child of the Lowcountry. While my daughters did not take to it, they got to experience what it was like and that gives them revelence in this world. After that it was back to work but their teenage years were our best years with them as we watched them develop and interact with their friends. I would not exchange it for millions of dollars.
