This afternoon Thistle entertained a barn full of people by giving birth to three adorable mini nubian boys. Two groups overlapped when she began pushing, so there were people leaning over all the stall sides watching as the baby goats arrived! Such joy and sweetness. The human kids were all so good and kept their voices at a whisper! Mama and babies are doing great! Meet Timber, Tundra (for the Tundra Dwarf Birch that is an endangered shrub) and Thoreau (to honor the “The Maine Woods” by Henry David Thoreau)! They were named by our guests! They all got a little time outside after arriving so I could clean their stall and mom did a great job looking out for her kids!
